1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Bunkz! These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Bunkz ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Bunkz mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use Bunkz.

2. Eligibility

To use Bunkz, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Be currently enrolled or planning to enroll at an accredited college or university
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
• Not be prohibited from using the service under U.S. law or the laws of your jurisdiction
• Not have been previously banned from Bunkz for violating these Terms

3. What Bunkz Is

Bunkz is a platform that helps college students find compatible roommates through a swipe-based matching system. Key features include:

• Profile creation with photos and housing preferences
• Swipe-based matching with other students at your college
• Messaging with matches
• Group formation for finding roommates as a team
• Premium subscription features (Bunkz+)

What Bunkz Is NOT:

• ❌ A dating app (use for roommate finding only)
• ❌ A housing provider or landlord
• ❌ A background check service
• ❌ Affiliated with or endorsed by any university
• ❌ A guarantee that you will find a roommate

4. Account Registration

Creating an Account:

• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information
• You must verify your college email (.edu address)
• One person = one account (no multiple accounts)
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password
• You are responsible for all activity under your account

Email Verification:

You must verify your .edu email address to use Bunkz. This helps ensure you are a real student at your selected college. A verification badge will appear on your profile if your email domain matches your selected university.

5. User Conduct & Prohibited Activities

You AGREE to:

• ✓ Be respectful to other users
• ✓ Use accurate information in your profile
• ✓ Use the app for finding roommates only
• ✓ Report inappropriate behavior
• ✓ Follow all applicable laws

You AGREE NOT to:

• ❌ Harass, bully, or threaten other users
• ❌ Use the app for dating, hookups, or romantic purposes
• ❌ Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• ❌ Impersonate another person or use someone else's photos
• ❌ Discriminate based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin
• ❌ Solicit money or promote products/services
• ❌ Share sexually explicit content
• ❌ Spam or send unwanted messages
• ❌ Create fake accounts or use bots/automation
• ❌ Scrape, copy, or download user data
• ❌ Reverse engineer, hack, or attempt to breach security
• ❌ Use the app if you are under 18

6. Content & Intellectual Property

Your Content:

You retain ownership of the photos, messages, and information you post ("Your Content"). However, by posting content on Bunkz, you grant us a license to:

• Display your profile to other users at your college
• Store your content on our servers
• Use your content to operate and improve the service
• Display your content in groups you join

Content Standards:

All content you post must:

• Be appropriate for a college audience (no nudity, violence, etc.)
• Not infringe anyone else's rights (use your own photos)
• Not contain illegal content
• Comply with our Community Guidelines

Our Rights:

We reserve the right to:

• Remove any content that violates these Terms
• Suspend or terminate accounts for policy violations
• Modify or discontinue features at any time

Bunkz Intellectual Property:

The Bunkz app, logo, design, and all proprietary content are owned by Bunkz and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute our intellectual property.

7. Premium Subscriptions (Bunkz+)

Subscription Plans:

• Weekly: $19.99/week
• Monthly: $49.99/month
• 3 Months: $89.99 (billed every 3 months)
• 6 Months: $149.99 (billed every 6 months)

Auto-Renewal:

All subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel before the renewal date. You will be charged through your Apple App Store account at the rate of your selected plan.

Cancellation:

• Cancel anytime through your Apple App Store subscription settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
• No refunds for partial months/weeks

Free Trials (if offered):

If we offer a free trial, you must cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged. Free trials are limited to one per user.

Price Changes:

We reserve the right to change subscription prices with 30 days' notice. Price changes will not affect your current subscription period.

Refunds:

All purchases are final. Refunds are handled by Apple according to their refund policy. Contact Apple Support for refund requests.

8. University Names & Trademarks

Disclaimer: Bunkz is an independent platform and is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any university or college.

University and college names are used for descriptive purposes only to help students identify their institution. All university names, logos, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners.

9. Safety & Meeting in Person

We Are Not Responsible For:

• The actions or behavior of other users
• In-person meetings between users
• Roommate agreements or housing contracts
• Disputes between roommates
• Verification of user identity beyond email confirmation

10. Privacy & Data

Your use of Bunkz is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using Bunkz, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Termination

You Can Terminate:

You may delete your account at any time through Settings → Delete Account. Upon deletion:

• Your profile will be removed immediately
• Your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
• Active subscriptions will not be refunded (cancel separately)

We Can Terminate:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for:

• Violating these Terms of Service
• Violating Community Guidelines
• Fraudulent activity or payment issues
• Being under 18 years old
• Harassment or abusive behavior
• Any other reason at our discretion

Terminated accounts are not eligible for refunds.

12. Disclaimers & Limitations of Liability

No Warranties:

Bunkz is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

• That you will find a compatible roommate
• The accuracy of user profiles or information
• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• That the app will meet your specific needs

Limitation of Liability:

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• Bunkz and its owners, employees, and partners are NOT liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (or $100, whichever is greater)
• We are not liable for the actions of other users

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Bunkz and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the app
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another person
• Content you post on Bunkz

14. Dispute Resolution

Informal Resolution:

If you have a dispute with Bunkz, please contact us at support@bunkzapp.com first. We'll try to resolve it informally.

Binding Arbitration:

If we can't resolve the dispute informally, you agree that any legal dispute will be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, rather than in court.

Class Action Waiver:

You agree to resolve disputes with us only on an individual basis, and not as part of a class action or representative lawsuit.

Governing Law:

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [Your State - Add Later], without regard to conflict of law principles.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do:

• We'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top
• We'll notify you via email or in-app notification for material changes
• Your continued use of Bunkz after changes means you accept the new Terms

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between you and Bunkz and supersede any prior agreements.

18. No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not waive our right to enforce it in the future.
